Living the Mission
The leadership and staff of Lightway Recovery are in active recovery from addiction. Our desire to transform the current model of care and positively impact lives is deeply personal. We affirm a view of addiction as a chronic condition and recognize that complete recovery is possible when individuals engage with a spectrum of care. We are living proof.

Our Recovery Stories
Susan Barge
As a person in long-term recovery, our CEO Susan is driven to change the model of care for addiction. After struggling to find help for loved ones in her own family, Susan dedicated her career to supporting others on the pathway to recovery. Lightway Recovery is the outcome of years of intense work and prayer to bring about a residential recovery center specifically for women in Georgia. Susan knows the power of recovery to change the lives of women and families for generations. Because of Susan’s own recovery, she has enjoyed a previous career as a human resources director, serving and leading in faith-based recovery communities, and spending time with her family, especially her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.
Susan also serves as Executive Director of Lightway Recovery. She is a graduate of the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse, Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES) Program.
Farley Barge
Co-founder Farley is a person in long-term recovery. Because of Farley’s recovery, he has enjoyed a long career in the audiovisual industry, a wonderful marriage to Susan since 2004, and being a father and grandfather. He finds deep purpose pursuing a vision to change the way addiction is treated in our communities. Witnessing firsthand the barriers people face to getting necessary care, Farley was convicted to do something about it. In partnership with Susan, Farley dreamed about one day opening a long-term residential recovery center that would be part of this important movement. Through prayer and many faithful steps forward, Lightway Recovery came to fruition, and Farley is thrilled for the opportunity to positively impact more lives.
Farley also serves as President and Excecutive Director of Navigate Recovery Gwinnett. He is a graduate of the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse, Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES) Program.
