Adopt a Room

Just like recovery, we can’t do this work alone.

Recovery happens best in community, and you are part of our community of givers and doers who are bringing Lightway Recovery to fruition. We invite you to prayerfully consider taking ownership of a space inside our residential recovery center. Adopting a room or space is a hands-on service project ideal for groups or individuals looking to make an immediate and tangible impact.

When you choose one of the following spaces to adopt, we will provide you with guidelines for decorations and furnishings. In recognition of your giving, the space will be yours to name! We encourage you to write a personalized message that we will frame for our residents who will live in and use the space.

Bedrooms

Our bedrooms will house residents at an incredibly important time in their lives. Choosing to adopt a bedroom is one way you can come alongside our guests and support their recovery. Bedroom adopters will also be invited to maintain a direct connection with those who reside there over time, via notes, greeting cards, welcome baskets, etc. Suggestions for adopters:

  • Apply a fresh coat of paint for the room and en suite bath.
  • Provide new furnishings and decor (beds are included).
  • Add storage solutions to the bathroom for toiletries and towels.

Foyer & Music Room

As the entryway to Lightway Recovery, this essential space will welcome all who cross our threshold. Adopting this space means you will help create a first impression of our inviting and caring recovery community. Suggestions for adopters:

  • Update the walls with paint.
  • Create an inviting waiting area in a small space.
  • Decorate the narrow music room and outfit it with a variety of instruments.

    Meeting & Training Room

    This is a practical space that is vital to our operations. Both residents and staff of Lightway Recovery will utilize this room, where they will envision new possibilities for their futures. Suggestions for adopters:

    • Create an environment for clear thinking by painting the walls a neutral color.
    • Provide tables and folding chairs.
    • Add shelving and storage solutions.

    Recovery & Family Coaching Room

    You can be part of cultivating a space that will envelop our residents during some of their breakthrough moments in recovery. Contribute to a sense of calm and encouragement for individuals and families by adopting this room. Suggestions for adopters:

    • Design a room that emphasizes comfort for private sessions.
    • Supply furnishings and wall hangings that enhance peace.

      Gazebo & Back Patio

      Residential programming will include plenty of time spent in our beautiful and healing outdoor spaces. The back patio will be a hub of activity for gatherings and recreation, while the gazebo can host small group meetings or be a quiet space for reflection. Bring your creativity to these meaningful spaces. Suggestions for adopters:

      • Create an outdoor space for recreation and relaxation.
      • Provide furnishings designed for outdoor use.
      • Install a roof or awning over the patio for weather protection.
      • Add a grill with capacity to feed large crowds.
      • Stock a variety of outdoor games.

      Front Porch & Veranda

      Lightway Recovery’s beautiful wraparound front porch and upper veranda are our outward face to all those who will encounter us as residents or visitors. Our building has been out of use for some time. By adopting this space, you will revitalize the image we project to the world. Suggestions for adopters:

      • Clean the siding and touch up paint as needed.
      • Supply outdoor furnishings and planters for flowers and greenery.
      • Update the flooring material on the upper veranda.
